How to Launch a Deployment
Send a survey to the right employees for a defined window, track who responded, nudge the rest, and compare results to last quarter.
Real-world scenario
Priya Mehta · People Ops Lead at Bluewave Labs
Q2 engagement survey goes live Monday. Priya targets the All Employees folder, schedules reminders for day 7 and day 12, and needs 70% completion before the leadership offsite, not a spreadsheet chase.
Before you begin
- A published survey ready to send
- Employee folders with up-to-date membership
- DEX admin or deployment manager access
Overview
A deployment is a timed send of a survey to a specific audience. Unlike a one-off share link, deployments create individual respondents from folder members, track completion per person, and support scheduled reminders. This is how Priya runs Bluewave Labs' quarterly engagement survey to all 200 employees.
Q2 engagement deployment
Folder: All Employees (198 members)
Window: Jun 9 – Jun 23 · Reminders: Jun 16 and Jun 21 · Goal: 70% completion
Create a deployment
- 1
Open DEX → Deployments
Review past campaigns and their completion rates before creating a new one.
- 2
Click Create Deployment
Pick the published survey you want to send, e.g. your Q2 engagement pulse.
- 3
Choose target folders
Select one or more employee folders. Only current folder members receive invitations.
- 4
Set start and end dates
Schedule a future launch for Monday 9am, or start immediately. Two weeks is a common window for company-wide pulses.
- 5
Configure reminders
Add mid-campaign nudges for people who haven't responded. WorkVerge sends email and in-app alerts per your org notification settings.
- 6
Launch and monitor
Each respondent gets a unique link. Track sent, opened, and completed counts on the deployment detail page.
Audience targeting
Target one or more Folders. Folder membership determines who gets invited, update folders before launch if you added new hires or changed departments.
For department-specific slices, create folders like Engineering or GTM and deploy separately. You'll compare response rates in Analytics without mixing audiences in one export.
Sync before launch
Monitor progress
The deployment detail view shows real-time sent, opened, and completed counts. When you have enough responses:
- Drill into Responses for individual answers
- Open Analysis for sentiment and wordcloud on open text
- Share team-scoped views via the Manager Dashboard
