DEX / Analytics

Analytics Overview

Track response rates, completion trends, and participation by folder, then drill into Analysis when open-text answers need a story.

Real-world scenario

Priya Mehta · People Ops Lead at Bluewave Labs

After Q2 engagement closes, Priya compares completion rates to Q1 (74% vs 68%), spots Engineering lagging at 61%, and opens Analysis to see why before the exec review.

Before you begin

  • At least one closed or active deployment
  • DEX viewer or admin role

Overview

DEX analytics answers "how did the campaign perform?", response rates, trends over time, and breakdowns by folder or workplace. For why employees feel a certain way, pair these numbers with the Analysis Hub.

Q2 vs Q1 at Bluewave Labs

Company NPS: 42 → 47 · Overall completion: 68% → 74%
Engineering completion: 58% → 61% (still below company average, worth a manager conversation)

Key metrics

  • Response rate. Completed ÷ invited, per survey and deployment
  • Completion trends. Daily progress during an open deployment window
  • Folder breakdowns. Which teams responded and which need a nudge
  • Activity feed. Recent submissions surfaced on the DEX Dashboard

Dashboards

Custom dashboards use interactive charts filtered by survey, deployment, or date range. Pin widgets to the DEX dashboard for Priya's weekly check-in, or to org report dashboards when Alex Kim wants engagement alongside IT metrics.

Qualitative analysis

When open-text volume is high enough to summarize, not three answers, but thirty, move to Analysis:

  • Sentiment Analysis. Positive, neutral, negative split on free text
  • Wordcloud. Recurring themes like "on-call", "mentorship", "tools"
  • Per-deployment drill-downs. Compare Q1 and Q2 on the same survey

Bookmark cleanup

Some orgs still have bookmarks to older analytics routes. New work should use the Analysis hub and DEX dashboard for consistency.
