Overview

Whois Info pulls public registration data for the domain you are viewing. Expiry dates from Whois drive the expiry column on the domains list and domain expiration notifications. You do not type Whois data manually, it refreshes when you open or update the domain.

What is shown

  • Registrar. e.g. Namecheap, GoDaddy
  • Expiry date. When registration expires if not renewed
  • Creation date. Original registration date
  • Nameservers. Current DNS delegation (e.g. ada.ns.cloudflare.com)
  • Additional fields. Other data returned by the Whois provider

How it works

    Open the domain from the list

    Click any row in ITAM → Digital Assets → Domains.

    Select the Whois Info tab

    WorkVerge loads registration data when the drawer opens, no separate refresh button required for a first view.

    Compare expiry and nameservers to your records

    Use Whois expiry for renewal planning; nameservers confirm DNS is pointed where you expect (e.g. Cloudflare).

    Cross-check Domain Info if something looks off

    If registrar in Whois differs from what you entered, update the Domain Info tab or edit the domain record.

WorkVerge queries a primary Whois service and falls back to an alternate source if needed. Privacy-protected registrations may hide registrant contact details while still showing expiry and nameservers.

Expiry vs SSL expiry

Domain registration expiry (Whois) and SSL certificate expiry are different dates. Track both, workverge.ai might renew in March while its cert renews every 90 days.
