ITAM / Domains

How to Add a Domain

Register a domain in WorkVerge so Carlos can track renewals, SSL, and health checks alongside the rest of WorkVerge' digital assets.

Real-world scenario

Carlos Reyes · IT Admin at Bluewave Labs

Carlos just renewed workverge.ai at Namecheap for $14.98/yr and wants expiry and cost visible in WorkVerge before Maya's quarterly vendor review.

Before you begin

  • ITAM license and permission to create digital assets
  • Domain name, registrar, and purchase date handy

Overview

Adding a domain creates a record WorkVerge uses for Whois lookups, SSL fetching, health scoring, and expiry notifications. You only need basic registration details upfront, live DNS and certificate data come from the domain detail view after save.

Step-by-step

  1. 1

Open ITAM → Digital Assets → Domains

You will see every domain your org already tracks. Confirm workverge.ai is not listed before adding it again.

  2. 2

    Click New Domain

The form opens on the right. Enter the exact hostname, no https:// or trailing slash.

  3. 3

    Choose registrar and DNS provider

Pick where the domain is registered (e.g. Namecheap) and where DNS is hosted (e.g. Cloudflare).

  4. 4

Enter price, currency, and purchase date

WorkVerge converts the price to your org currency using the purchase date exchange rate.

  5. 5

    Set status and optional fields

Choose Active, Inactive, or Archived. Toggle auto-renew, add tags, or a short description if helpful.

  6. 6

    Click Add Domain

WorkVerge validates the form and saves the record. Duplicate names in the same org are rejected.
