DEX / Onboarding
Onboarding Settings
Define when week-1 pulses fire, who gets notified, and how new hires flow from HRIS sync into DEX, set once, reuse for every cohort.
Real-world scenario
Priya Mehta · People Ops Lead at Bluewave Labs
Priya standardizes onboarding: optional day-1 welcome, required week-1 pulse on day 7, 30-day checkpoint for all engineers. HRIS start dates trigger everything, she doesn't manually deploy for each hire.
Before you begin
- Published surveys for each checkpoint you enable
- HRIS or manual employee start dates in org records
Overview
Onboarding settings are Priya's playbook. Instead of creating a deployment every time someone joins, she defines the sequence here, surveys, timing, notifications, and WorkVerge applies it when HR marks a new hire.
Bluewave onboarding template
Day 7: Week 1. How's it going? (required, reminder day 9)
Day 30: 30-Day Check-in (engineering roles only, reminder day 33)
Configuration
- 1
Open DEX → Onboarding → Settings
This is the template every new hire inherits, change it once, not per person.
- 2
Assign default surveys
Pick surveys for day 1 (optional welcome), week 1 (pulse), and 30-day checkpoint.
- 3
Set notification timing
Choose when employees and managers receive email and in-app alerts, initial send plus reminders.
- 4
Enable HRIS triggers
When HRIS sync sets a start date, WorkVerge schedules surveys automatically, no manual deployment per hire.
- 5
Save and verify
Add a test employee or review the next scheduled onboarding to confirm dates look right.
Changes aren't retroactive
Automations
Default templates cover most cases. For advanced chains, notify IT when tooling scores low, add hires to a "June Cohort" folder, start a follow-up deployment, use DEX Automations or cross-product Automation Workflows.
WorkVie AI can suggest survey selections during setup if you're unsure which checkpoint fits a role, helpful when Priya adds a new "Sales AE" track alongside engineering.
