WorkVie AI

Docked Assistant

Ask WorkVie AI from the page you are already on, ideal for quick blast-radius checks, asset lookups, and ticket counts without opening the full agent workspace.

Real-world scenario

Alex Kim · VP of IT at Bluewave Labs

Alex is on ITAM → Servers reviewing prod-api-01 details when Carlos asks whether the patch window is safe. Alex opens the dock and asks for blast radius without leaving the server record.

Before you begin

  • WorkVie AI enabled in org configuration

Overview

The docked assistant is the fastest way to get AI help during day-to-day admin work. It overlays your current screen so you can verify a dependency, check a count, or sanity-check a change window while the underlying record or list stays in view.

Where the dock appears

  • Admin dashboard. Cross-product summaries and onboarding checks
  • ITAM. Digital assets (domains, servers, SSL) and physical devices
  • ITSM. Service desk, tickets, deployments
  • DEX. Surveys, deployments, response analysis
  • My Organization. Config, employees, automation workflows

Use the dock

  1. 1

    Open any licensed admin surface

The dock appears on the dashboard, ITAM, ITSM, DEX, and My Organization pages. Look for the WorkVie AI floating panel in the corner.

  2. 2

    Click the dock to expand

The panel opens without navigating away. Your current page context, server list, ticket queue, survey results, stays visible behind the chat.

  3. 3

    Ask a contextual question

While viewing prod-api-01, ask about uptime history, linked domains, or blast radius. You do not need to re-type the asset name if the UI passes context.

  4. 4

Expand to the full workspace when needed

Use the expand action for longer threads, session history, or action plan generation.

  5. 5

Close the dock to return to workflow

Dismiss the panel and continue patching, approving tickets, or reviewing surveys. Your conversation is saved if you reopen or expand later.

Example prompts

From ITAM → Servers → prod-api-01

  • "What breaks if this server reboots tonight?"
  • "Which domains point at this host?"
  • "Any open P1 tickets tied to this asset?"

When to expand

If you need more than three or four follow-ups, or you want to generate an action plan, expand to the agent workspace so the full thread is easier to manage.
