Overview

Notifications keep ITAM, ITSM, and DEX events visible without polling dashboards. WorkVerge uses Socket.IO for instant in-app delivery, with optional email and Slack when your org connects those channels. Most teams start with the bell icon, then add Slack so on-call and platform channels get the same signal.

Notification types

  • Domain and SSL expiration. Renewal windows before finance and security reviews
  • Server uptime monitoring. Failures and recovery on watched hosts like prod-api-01
  • Asset and service tickets. Assignments, approvals, status changes
  • DEX deployments. Launch confirmations and survey reminders
  • Automation workflows. Action confirmations from cross-product rules
  • Account events. Invites, magic links, MFA enrollment
  • HR-adjacent. Leave approvals and check-in reminders where enabled

Set up Slack

    Connect Slack in Integrations

    Open My Organization → Integrations, choose Notifications, and complete the Slack OAuth flow for your Bluewave Slack workspace.

    Pick default channels

    Assign channels for IT alerts, e.g. #it-alerts for domain/SSL expiry and #platform-alerts for server uptime failures.

    Map notification types to channels

    Route asset tickets, monitoring alerts, DEX deployment launches, and workflow confirmations to the channels your teams actually watch.

  4. 4

    Test with a low-risk event

    Trigger a test workflow or mark a staging domain expiry notification to confirm messages land in the right channel with correct formatting.

    Document ownership in My Organization

    Note who updates channel mappings when teams rename channels or onboard new product areas like WorkVie AI maintenance comms.

Slack needs Integrations first

Full OAuth steps live in Integrations. Connect Slack under Notifications before expecting channel delivery, the bell icon works without Slack, but channels do not.

Manage the bell inbox

    Click the bell icon in the header

    All realtime notifications appear here via Socket.IO, no refresh needed.

    Filter All, Unread, or Archive

    Work through new alerts or clean up resolved items without losing history.

  3. 3

    Mark read or archive individually

    Use bulk actions. Mark all as read or Archive All, after incident bridges or deployment windows.

    Adjust personal preferences in Profile

    Choose which categories you still want in-app vs. email when Slack handles team-wide broadcasts.

Pair with maintenance comms

When Alex approves a change window, Maya can combine Slack routing with an automation workflow so the same event notifies in-app and in #platform-alerts.
