Edit SSL Certificate

Fix auto-renew flags, status, and cost after renewal, without re-fetching unless dates changed on the wire.

Real-world scenario

Carlos Reyes · IT Admin at Bluewave Labs

Carlos renewed app.workverge.ai early but WorkVerge still shows the old expires-on date. He re-runs Fetch SSL on the domain, then edits the record to turn auto-renew on and add the DigiCert invoice amount.

Before you begin

  • ITAM license enabled
  • SSL certificate already in the list

Overview

Edit when you need to update operational fields, auto-renew, status, price, tags, not when the certificate itself rotated. After renewal on the server, use Fetch SSL on the domain to refresh issued-on and expires-on; then edit price or auto-renew if needed.

How to edit

  1. 1

Open ITAM → Digital Assets → SSL

Search for the domain, e.g. app.workverge.ai.

  2. 2

Click Edit from the row actions

The edit drawer opens with current certificate metadata.

  3. 3

    Update editable fields

Common changes: auto-renew toggle, status, price after renewal, tags for filtering.

  4. 4

    Click Save

WorkVerge validates and converts price to org currency if you changed cost fields.

Editable vs read-only

You can edit:

  • Domain name, SSL type, issuer / provider label
  • Auto-renew (enabled or disabled)
  • Price, currency, status
  • Tags, description

Issue date is read-only after creation, it anchors currency conversion. Expiry dates from fetch refresh when you re-run Fetch SSL, not via manual edit.

Example

Post-renewal cleanup for app.workverge.ai

After Fetch SSL shows expires-on 2026-09-15, Carlos edits the SSL row: Auto-renew = Enabled, Price = $0 (Let's Encrypt), Status = Active, description = "Renewed early for launch 2026-06-20."

Stale expiry?

If expires-on does not match what your browser shows, the cert on the server changed but WorkVerge has not re-fetched. Open the domain → SSL Info → Fetch SSL again before editing other fields.
